Deck & Patio Cleaning in Austin Texas

Wood, composite, and stone each need a different touch

“Deck and patio” covers a lot of very different surfaces, and the fastest way to ruin one is to clean them all the same way. Sealed and stained wood gets a soft wash — high pressure lifts the grain and tears the sealant off, leaving a fuzzy surface that needs sanding. Composite decking has manufacturer cleaning guidance we follow so we don't void its warranty. Pavers clean up well but need their joint sand checked afterward. And limestone, flagstone, and other natural stone need pH-balanced cleaners so the surface doesn't etch.

We identify what you have and match the method before any water touches it.

Austin sun, shade, and the algae problem

Two things drive most of the buildup we see on Austin patios: shade and sprinkler overspray. North-facing decks and anything under an oak canopy stay damp enough to grow algae and mildew, which is both ugly and genuinely slippery underfoot. In full Texas sun, exposed wood greys and dries out instead. A proper clean removes the organic growth, kills the slip hazard, and brings the original color back — and it's the right first step if you're planning to re-stain.

Strip-and-reseal as a follow-on

Deck and patio cleaning starts at $149 for a standard 200 sq ft cedar or composite deck. Larger or multi-level decks run $249–$399. If your wood is overdue for refinishing, we can handle stripping and re-sealing as a follow-up package once the surface is clean and dry — the cleaning has to come first either way, because sealer only bonds to a clean, dry surface.

Yes — when done correctly. We use controlled pressure and proper techniques to clean wood without splintering or damage.
Most outdoor surfaces benefit from cleaning once per year, especially in Austin's humid climate.
Absolutely. Removing algae and mildew improves safety and reduces slip hazards.
Yes. We clean wood, composite, concrete, pavers, and stone using surface-appropriate methods.
Yes. We clean first, let the wood dry, then strip and re-seal as a follow-up package. Sealing has to go onto a clean, dry surface to bond properly, so it's a two-step process.
It would — which is why we soft wash sealed and stained wood instead. High pressure raises the grain and tears off the finish. Low pressure plus the right cleaner gets it clean without the damage.
